Mega Air.😃😃😃

Yesterday was our final assembly. And I was one of the year 8s running it. Well, it wasn't the last day just the last assembly. It was quite sad. But then after the year 6s 7s and 8s walked to mega Air and bounced around for 2 hours. It was really fun. If you don't know what Mega  Air is it is a trampoline park. We played some Dodgeball. I got hit in the face several times. And we had Pizza. But it was really fun, and really exhausting. Here are some photos.

What We Are Doing This Week.

This week some of teh year 7s and 8s are on Welinghit camp. So here this week we are doing careers. Everyday we chose a different career and then do some work on it like researching about it and stuff like that. We also need to write a story about doing that job. On Monday I was an actor. On Tuesday I was a siantance, the arere of science I would do if I did become one would be phycology. And today I am a Personal investigator. I think that today was the best story that I wrote even though I lost a bit of it. To be honest I basted it on Sherlock Holmes. Any way. Here is my story. I hope you like it.

It’s about 8:00. I’m sitting down and having a coffee. Then I hear a knock on the door. I open it and see a man about 30 years old. He asks if I am the private detective. I say yes and let him in. He takes a seat and I sit across from him. “So what's wrong?” I say. “It’s my wife. She’s going missing. About a week ago I saw a note on my bed, it said ‘I have gone to the log cabin for about 3 days. I will be back soon,’ but it has been a week and she hasn't come back yet.” “Can I see the note? I ask he holds me the note and I look at it and give it back to him.I could tell he was scared. He was like a rat out in the open. “Ok, so you think she has gone missing or something?” “yes.” he said. “Ok, so why didn't you go to the police?” I said, “because then it would have been all over the news and I don't what that, I just want my wife back.” he said. “But how do I know that your not a fake?” He continued.  I quickly glanced at him from head to toe. I pause, then I talk.

 “Your about 30 years old, judging by the scratch marks on your hands your have a cat. I can see some fur on your trouser leg, that shows that you have a white dog. It’s a small god though because I can see that the fur doesnt go any higher than just below your knee. Can I see your phone pleas,” I ask. He hands be his phone I look at it then start again. ‘ This phone was given to your by someone. I can tell because there are scratches on it. It was given to your bu a member of your family . and that person has a drinking isu. I can tell because there are scratches my the charger. So that means he was drunk when he was trying to plug it in and keeps missing.

Hooked On Books Week.😐😃😁

This week  at yaldhurst school it is hooked on books week. That means then every day we get a new book and read about a chapter of it. Today it is Wednesday, so we have had 3 books. And there are still 2 more to come. So far we have got The List on Monday, The boy Who Flew of Tuesday and Charlie And The War Against The Grannies On Wednesday. (I have added links to teh book names the leader to a web sight that tell you more about them if you want to go and have a look for you self. And if you google the name of the book I am pretty sure that it come up with a place that you can buy it at.) Here are the photos of what the books loot like.

pet day. 😃😃😃😃

last Friday we had pet day. It was really fun. But it is the lats ped day that I am going to have because I am going to high school next year. But It was still really fun. when school started we were ether making a sand suser or a vegetable sculpture. I chose to make a vegetable sculpture. Here is a photo of what I made.

It is supposed to be a parrot in a birdcage. To be honest It turned out better than I thought it was going to be. Then we went on the mat and talked about what we were going to do on that day. I can't remember what we did. I think we then when and put all of out creations in the assembly hall. Then I think we went out to brake. Then we came back in and then we went back out to look at all of the stuff. And we pretty much did the the rest of the day. Here are some photos. 

But all in all it was really fun. And the last I will ever have.😐😢

The A&P show.😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃

Last Tuesday all of Rimu went to the A&P show. It was really fun. We were in groups of 3 or 4 and there was a patient. In My group there was, Me, Liam, Jacob and Corbin. The adlout we had was Corbin's mum. It was really fun. The first thing i did when I got there was buy some Candy Floss. O was the first person to buy something and that was Candy floss. Then we looked at some of the animals and got some hot chips. Then we looked around some more. I got several things there. I got some food, i got a blow up mace, I got a ball of a string so when you through it it comes back. I also got a paddle ball but t broke on the first day. Here are some of the photos.

It was all really fun. and I really liked it.

Maze D.L.O.

last week and this week when we are learning maori we have been doing directions. We had to make a maze on the computer and then have other people try to get to the treasure. Here is what my maze looks like. 

I put arrows there so people can see which way to go. Because when I finished making it I thought. I don't know how people are going to be able to see which way to do. SO then I put arrows there. Everybody who tried my maze found the resur. And I only did not find one person's treasure out of the three people I tried. We had to make a D.L.O. about how to pronounce the ways we went. The Trip To Town.😃😃😃

Today All of yaldhurst went to town. We all got on some buses and left at about 9:00. The first place we went to was The Town Hall and watch and listened to The Big Bang Concert. There were some other schools as well. It was really cool. Here are some photo from it.

After that we all walked to the Margaret mahy Playground and had some lunch. I saw some seagulls poop several times. It scared me for life. here are some photos of us on the playground.

The Amazing Spy Fox.😃😃😃

Yesterday we did a long write. It was about a fox that is a spy. The day before we write it we watched a little video of one of his missions. Here is a link to the video we watched. Then we had some options about what we wanted to write. One of them was we could write his next adventure. And that is the one I did. But The first thing we did was plan it. Then we wrote it. Beep beep, beep beep, I woke up to the noise of my spy watch going of. I looked at it and read my mission. mI had to stop the evil chupacabra from blowing up texas. Oh no we live in texas. It will be fine. I slowly got out of bed so I didn't wake Lilly. But she woke up. “Where are your your going dear.” asked Lilly. “Oh just to work hunny.” I replied. “Ok make sure your don't die.” “don't worry I won't” I jumped into my car and flew into space because it can turn into a rocket ship.

 I saw chupacabra’s space stashin and I snuck into it. Wow I have never snuck into a villains space station before. I was as thrilled as a little kid in a candy shop. I kept creeping through the place and I saw the vents. I clicked into them as quietly as a mouse. Then I saw Dr Chupacabra I jumped down and yeled “it’s over Dr Chupacabra stop the nuke.”`

 “why world I do that?” he replied in is texas accent. “I want to nuke texas because they didn't give the respect I deserve. I needed to eat their livestock to survive you see and they set up traps to capture me. And now I am going to nuke them.” “is that so?” I said “well yes it is so because there is only one minute left on the timer and you're surrounded by an army of shrimp.” I looked down and there was tons of shrimp around me. They started to jump on me so I started to punch and kick them it is quite a way to beat shrimp because the are so small. But when their and thousand of them. That’s when it gets hard.i keepted fighting and at last the were all down. I fan to the control panel and pushed the big read button. The countdown stopped, and with one second to spare. “Now it’s over.” I said. But he just started to laugh. “Oh you have know idea do your.” He said. “Why are you laughing? I just stopped your master plane.” “Oh that wasn't my master plane. This is.”

 And with that he pushed a button and another nuke came out with no countdown and launch out. “Nooo!!” I yeled but it was too late. The misil was gone. I saw it on the map approaching texas. “Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!” Dr Chupacabra laghufted. Your see spy fox your are no match for me. I dropped to the floor. "Noooo! Lilly."

Home learning.

This week for Home learning I have decided to make a number word search. Witch I ges is a word search but we need to find numbers spelled out. I am not that good at word searches. That's probably why I don't really like them. But I think I have made this one easy, there are only 3 I think. Pantomime.😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃

In class we are doing a pantomime. A pantomime is a type of play. And we are doing it in our class. I want to audition for ether Boo or Hiss which are the people that hold up the signs when we the audience needs to boo or hiss. We have read through a little bit of the script and some of the songs.

Home learning😁

This week for home learning. (Even though I am doing it on a Sunday because I didn't to it all week.) I am going to to the activity when we have to make yourself an author. I don't really know when it means by that. But I think is is expling how to write a story/book.


So what we do at school and what all the authors do I think it first make a plan on paper or on a device. And then I think they write it on ether [appear or on a computer. Then thy sent that to the person that is going to make the pictures and they say were they want the pictures. Then I think they get they make a ruf book and send it to the place were the get is manufactured and printed. And then they have a  book. But In my class we only go up to writing it. Not getting an illustrator to make pictures. I think to make this blog post look better I am going to get a photo of what I think I would look like as an author. *clicks fingers.

My Long Write.😁

Yesterday and today we did a long write. We started to plane it yesterday. And then we started writing yesterday and today. We had to write it about a photo. Here is is.

Here is my story I hope you Like it. There is exactly 400 words in it. Here it is.

I’m walking through the forest looking at all the trees. All of the beauty. All of the greenery. Then I fell nature calling. I gotta pee. I go and do my business and then I  turn my head and see the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life. Tons and tons of beautiful flowers. I walk towards them I can smell their amazing sent. I can see all the beautiful colours the petals are as soft as silk. I can taste the sweet honeysuckle. I can hear the wind blowing the flours to and fro. As I am walking in it trying as hard as I can not to step of the flowers. Then I hear a bark behind me. I turn around and I see a wolf. It is running at me. I am as scared as I mouse in a corner. I start to run away. I am running over the flowers but I don't care anymore. I don't want to be wolf food. I am Running. Running. Running.

I am running as fast as my legs can carry me. I see a root sticking up out of the ground and I think. Maybe I can make it trip over. So I slow down a tiny bit and then I try to make it trip over with the root but it doesn't work. I trip over enstaid. I am now in the ground with a sprained ankle. a hungry wolf a meter away from me with a big appetite. Well. this is it. This is how I am going to die. In a sea of beautiful flowers with and a wolf. Death by wolf. Not how I thought I was going to die. No I am not going out like this. I am going to at least out up a fight. I stand up. I am in as much pain as I would be if I was getting burned on the stake. I grabbed a stick and hit the wolf as hard as I could but it didn't work. It grabbed in in its mouth and pulled it out of my hands causing me to fall over again. Then the wolf was right above me, spit dripping out of it’;s mouth like a leaky tap. Then it opened its mouth and came towards me. I NOOOOOO! I don't want to die like this! Please!

New Novel Study.

Today we choose what book we are going to do for a novel study.  we used a system call speed dating books. There were lots of books on some of the table's. We had a sheet and we had to go around and choose 5 books and rank them from 1 star to 5 stars. My 5 start one was call Small Steps. then we had to have put back against a wall and then the teacher called out our year and we went and choos the book we rated 5 stars. If someone got it before you then you could pleg you love to the book. I did that and so did the person that got it before me. then the class voted for who gets the book. I got the most votes but Ms. Sprag didn't let me have the book. Here are some photos and a video of Thom pledging his love to the book.

Winter Fun Day.😃😁😃😁

On the 20th of September Yaldhurst had there winter fun day. The year 1s 2s and 3s went ice skating. and the year 4s and up went skiing. It took about 2 hours to get to Mount Hut.

When we got there we had some morning tea, Then we got our boots, skis or snowboards and we were aloud to go on the magic carpet for an hour and then we had our lessons witch went for about an hour then we were aloud to go on the chair lift if we wanted to. Me and some other people went on it with Mr Mathews who used to teach at yaldhurst.

On the going down the chair lift mountain I nearly did a backflip because I accidently flew up the side of the mountain and landed on my face. It didn't really hurt apart from getting snow down my top.  But it was mainly fun.

We got back to school at about 5:30 to 6:00.

This week for home learning I have decided to do the activity called 'Movie Time." We had to make a movie poster about our family. I chose to use canva to make it. we had to say what people would act in it. I would want Chris Hemsworth to act me. here is a photo of him.

My Tuesday Long Write.😆😁😃

On Tuesday we did a ling write. The first thing we did was plan it on Monday. We watched a video called  3 degrees 5 Minutes. Here is a link to it.  There were a few options we could choose from to write. I chose to rewrite the ending. After that, on Tuesday we wrote it. Here is my story. I hope you like it. (I didn't get to finish it to if it doesn't make much sense now you know why.)

“I can’t see anything, the snow is too thick!” 

“Keep looking. We must find him. That man was like a father to me, I can’t give up on him so easily!” 

“Caption, the snow is too thick and we are running out of food. We Need to no now!”

“No!! We have to find him!” The men tried to drag me back to the ship but I was putting up a hard fight. “Caption. we don't want to have to leave your here to die! But I am the other men are going to get back to the ship before we freeze to death!”

“Fine! Go leave me here, I will find him!” at that the other men left and I kept going to find the professor. That man was like a father to me. He was the closest thing I had to a family. I can’t leave without knowing what happened to him. I keep moving forward and trying to find him. But the snow was too thick, I couldn't see a thing. Eventually I collapsed because I was so hungry and thirsty. I was lying down and I thought I was going to die. I was as cold as a plan it to far away from the sun. and I was as thirsty as a person stranded in the hot, blood boiling mouth renchning, stomach aching dezert. And I was so hungry I could eat a horse. Then I heard a voice in the distins. “Helo!” I yeled. “Is any one their?!” then out of the snow I saw him. Professor Bloodfist. “Professor Bloudfist. Is that really you?”

“Yes my boy, it is me.”

“Your haven't aged at all. You're still as young as your were before.”

“That is all thanks to the north pole and these boots. And 23 degrees, 5 minutes.”

So it’s true. Your can live forever.”

“Yes my boy it is very true indeed. Come. I’ll show you my lab.” then he lead me to his lab. And the first thing I saw there was the plane to make the boots. “Those are the plans to make the boots that keep your on 23 degrees 5 minutes.” 

“Wow”

 Today we had to publish our traditional tail. First we had to plan it. Then we wrote it. And today we are publishing it and putting it on out blogs if we want to.
